Jhalak Dikhla Jaa
Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu made an appearance at Jhalak Dikhla Jaa to promote their movie Pink and man, was it an awesome night! Sr Bachchan started the night with a mind-blowing performance and a recited a poetry on women empowerment. Taapsee Pannu, too, made an appearance right after Big B’s performance. Taapsee and Karan Johar spoke about how nervous they were around the Shahenshah when they had first met him. Karan Johar revealed that he had fainted on the sets of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum and as soon as he woke up, Big B was beside him and assured him that he will dance properly. The two spoke about the movie and why it’s important for everyone to watch the movie. What followed was a night of laughter and brilliant performances by the contestants of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Karishma Tanna and Nora Fatehi’s performance kept the judges and the viewers hooked to the television. In fact, Big B even recited lines from his popular movie Silsila, for Karishma Tanna.
Nora Fatehi did an aerial act, the concept being of a woman getting out of her shell and facing the odds of the society bravely. Nora explained, after the act, how their concept was related to Pink. Taapsee was impressed with the performance and told her how much her act resembled Taapsee’s character in the movie. Sr Bachchan was moved by her performance and wished her lots of luck for the show. He spoke about how important it is for women in the country to live their life on their terms without being judged or raped.
Apart from the moving performances, there was a lot of entertainment and laugh riot on the sets. Manish Paul, who is hosting the show, managed to take selfies with Big B pouting next to him. In a fun conversation with Amitabh Bachchan, Manish made the grandfather reveal that he has never changed Aaradhya’s diaper. Big B also diced okra on the set as Manish asked him about his cooking skills at home.
Arjun Bijlani and Surveen Chawla have the lowest scores this week and one of them might be eliminated. ThoughArjun Bijlani’s performance and the concept was unique, it didn’t do much to get him out of the lowest scores for the week. Next week’s theme is going to be a gender change one where all the guys will be dressed as and performing as women and vice versa.
